Which port?

Three cruise terminals, and how they differ.

Your cruise documents name the terminal. The route, the timing and the airport that makes sense all follow from it.

Cape Liberty Cruise Port, Bayonne

On a peninsula reaching into New York Bay from Bayonne, on the site of a former military ocean terminal. It is in New Jersey, not the city, and Newark Liberty is the nearest airport.

Newark airport car service

Manhattan Cruise Terminal

Piers on the Hudson along Twelfth Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, a short ride from Midtown hotels. The approach is city streets, so Midtown traffic matters more than distance.

Midtown Manhattan car service

Brooklyn Cruise Terminal

At Pier 12 in Red Hook, on the Brooklyn waterfront facing Lower Manhattan. From JFK it is a run that never enters Manhattan.

Sailing day and coming home

Embarkation and disembarkation, step by step.

Two mornings matter on a cruise: the one you board and the one you come home. They run differently, so we plan them differently.

Embarkation: work back from check-in

Your cruise line gives you an arrival window for check-in. We set the pickup backwards from it, with room for a weekend-morning drive, so you arrive inside the window.

Embarkation: bags at the kerb

Porters usually take tagged checked bags at the kerb, and your chauffeur lifts them out for you. The stop is short by design; we confirm the drop-off lane with the port's guidance for your sailing.

Disembarkation: the ship clears in waves

On the last morning guests leave in groups, not all at once, and an international itinerary adds customs inside the terminal. Your exact exit time is only known on the day.

Disembarkation: the pickup follows you

We track the ship's arrival that morning. When you are off with your bags, a call or text to dispatch brings the car up, timed to your real exit rather than a guess.

Coverage

From the pier to the airports, roughly.

Approximate door-to-door times on an ordinary day. A busy sailing morning or a weekday rush can push any of them past the top of the range.

Approximate drive times from New York's three cruise terminals to the airports and Midtown

Every figure is a typical estimate, not a promise; we plan the pickup on the day's traffic.

The fleet

Seats are easy; a week of luggage is the real question.

Cruise cases are bigger and more numerous than airport bags. Count them before you choose, then filter the fleet by class.

Showing 13 of 13 vehicles.

Sailing from Bayonne, Manhattan or Brooklyn?

Tell us the terminal, the date and how many cases. We confirm the vehicle and the pickup in writing.

Before and after the ship

Airports, the fleet and group travel.

The airport pages cover the flight leg of a cruise trip; the fleet and group pages help you size the vehicle.

In depth

Planning the drive around the ship

A week of luggage changes the vehicle

Cruise packing is heavier than airport packing: two large cases each, carry-ons and a garment bag for the dressier evenings is normal for a week at sea. An executive sedan takes 3 bags, so couples often move up to the Cadillac Escalade ESV (6 seats, 5 bags) and families of four or more to a Sprinter van with 14 seats and room for 14 bags.

For a big family bringing strollers or golf bags, a cargo Sprinter can run beside the passenger vehicle. It carries luggage only and reaches the terminal with your group, so nobody rides with a suitcase on their knees.

Airport and port on the same day

Flying in on sailing day works when the gap is generous. From Newark, Cape Liberty is a short ride; a flight into JFK with a ship leaving Bayonne is a long one, and we plan it on the traffic of the day rather than the map. Coming home, your disembarkation group, any customs and the drive all have to fit before your airline's check-in closes, so leave room.

Groups sailing together, such as a wedding party or a family reunion, can travel to the pier as one movement: mini buses seat up to 38 and the motor coach 55, with one dispatcher holding every vehicle. Golden Class Limo is an independent car service, not part of the port or any cruise line; our job is the road between you and the ship.

Good to know

Cruise port questions, answered.

Is Cape Liberty Cruise Port in New York or New Jersey?

New Jersey. Cape Liberty is in Bayonne, across the harbour from Manhattan, although its sailings are often sold as leaving from New York. The Manhattan and Brooklyn cruise terminals are the two inside the city, and your cruise documents say which one is yours.

Can my driver wait at the terminal while I check in my bags?

Drop-off is meant to be brief: your chauffeur unloads, the porters take the checked cases and the car moves on. Each port runs its kerb in its own way, so we confirm the drop-off lane with the port's guidance for your sailing.

How do you time the pickup when the ship comes back?

We follow the ship's arrival that morning rather than fixing an hour weeks ahead. Guests leave in groups, so the moment you walk out varies. Call or text dispatch once you have your bags, and the car is brought round to the pickup area.

What vehicle do we need for a week of cruise luggage?

Count cases, not people. A sedan takes 3 bags, the Escalade 5 and a 14-passenger Sprinter 14. When the bags still outnumber the space, we add a cargo Sprinter that carries luggage only.

Cruise port transfers at a glance

Golden Class Limo drives cruise passengers to and from Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey, and New York's other two cruise terminals: the Manhattan Cruise Terminal in Hell's Kitchen and the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook.

They are three separate ports in two states. A sailing sold as leaving from New York can depart from any of them, so check the terminal on your cruise documents before booking a car.

Newark Liberty is the closest airport to Cape Liberty, typically ~20–40 minutes by road. JFK and LaGuardia are a longer haul from Bayonne.

Sedans, Escalades, Sprinter vans and mini buses, plus a cargo Sprinter when the cases outgrow the seats. Book online or call (718) 360-9383, 24/7, 365 days a year.
