What productions book

Six jobs a shoot day asks of its vehicles.

Most productions need several of these at once.

Crew shuttles

Fourteen-passenger Sprinter vans running crew between base camp, set and holding, held for the day so the next run never waits.

Sprinter van service

Gear and wardrobe

The Cargo Sprinter carries cases, racks and props with nobody riding in it, beside a crew van. It is a van, not a grip or lighting truck.

The Cargo Sprinter

Talent and directors

An executive sedan or Cadillac Escalade ESV for cast, the director or agency clients.

Background and large units

Mini buses seating 23 to 38 and a 55-passenger motor coach bring background or a full crew in from one meeting point.

Mini bus rental

Company moves

A mid-day relocation to the second location, every van loaded and moved together.

Scouts and tech scouts

A Sprinter held for a scout day, keeping the director, DP and department heads together.

A production day

From the night before to the last drop-off.

The same shape on a photo shoot or a feature; only the van count changes.

The night before

The final crew list goes to dispatch. We confirm each vehicle, chauffeur and pickup time in writing.

Pre-dawn pickups

Chauffeurs collect from homes and hotels in time for call. Dispatch is staffed through the night, so a 4 a.m. problem reaches a person.

During the day

Vans wait near base camp and run shuttles as the ADs call them. A company move is one phone call.

Wrap

However late it comes, the hourly booking keeps running, and everyone goes back to the address on the list.

The fleet

Vans first, then whatever the call sheet needs.

The van tab leads because crew vans do most of the work on a shoot. Cars cover talent; buses cover background and big units.

In depth

How a shoot day runs with the vehicles held

Why productions book time rather than trips

A call sheet is a plan everybody expects to change. Setups overrun, the light moves and the unit relocates after lunch. A transfer between two fixed addresses absorbs none of that; an hourly booking absorbs all of it.

So the vans are reserved for the day and directed by the production, waiting between runs near base camp or wherever your locations team indicates.

One crew list in, one run sheet back

The simplest brief is the crew list itself: names, home or hotel addresses, call times and phone numbers. Dispatch groups people by area and call time, assigns vehicles and sends back a written run sheet showing who is in which van.

On the day, one dispatcher holds every vehicle. A moved call time, a split unit or a last-minute day player is one phone call to one person, who re-routes the vans rather than leaving each chauffeur to improvise.

Good to know

Production transport questions, answered.

Can you cover pre-dawn call times?

Yes. Early pickups are ordinary on a shoot and dispatch is staffed around the clock. Give us the call time and the address, and we set the pickup from the drive time rather than leaving the chauffeur to guess.

What happens if we wrap late?

The booking runs by the hour, so a late wrap extends it rather than stranding the crew. The extra time is charged at the same hourly rate. On a very long day we plan a second chauffeur when quoting rather than improvising one at wrap.

Can crew ride in the Cargo Sprinter with the equipment?

No. The Cargo Sprinter carries gear, wardrobe and cases only, and is booked alongside a crew van so people and kit move together. If the load looks bigger than one cargo van, we say so at booking.

How is a production billed?

With one booking contact and one invoice per production, so every vehicle across every shoot day sits on a single bill. We confirm the arrangement in writing before the first call.

Production transport at a glance

Golden Class Limo moves crew, cast and equipment for film, TV, commercial and photo productions across New York City. Productions book by the hour, so a van and its chauffeur stay with the unit from first call to wrap.

Most shoots use a mix: Sprinter vans for crew between base camp and set, a Cargo Sprinter for wardrobe and cases, mini buses for background or a large crew, and a sedan or Cadillac Escalade ESV for talent and the director.

Pre-dawn calls are routine, because dispatch never closes. Send the crew list with addresses and call times, and one dispatcher builds the routing, confirms every vehicle in writing and holds the movement on the day.

When the schedule slips, the booking runs by the hour, so a late wrap extends it rather than stranding the crew. Call (718) 360-9383; dispatch answers 24/7, 365 days a year.
